How wide should your AirTrack be?

We supply AirTracks in a standard width of one, one and a half and 2 meters wide. To start with, the width of course depends on your budget, the wider the Airtrack the more expensive it becomes. The most important reason to take a wider Airtrack is that you have more freedom during practice. It often helps to learn your tricks faster because you do not end up next to the mat when you make a mistake. Especially for freerunning, freestyle and martial arts such as Judo it is useful to have a wider Airtrack. If the Airtrack is mainly used for gymnastics or dancing, a 1 meter wide one will suffice.

How thick should your AirTrack be?

Our AirTracks are available as standard in a thickness of 10, 15, 20 and 30 cm . The 10 cm is, due to its relatively low price, an excellent choice as an entry-level model to get started with an AirTrack. The thicker 15, 20 and 30 cm AirTrack gives you more usage options . For example, you have the option to increase the air pressure for a firmer surface or to decrease it for a softer surface. A lower air pressure ensures an easy push-off and softer landing and is ideal for beginners or for advanced athletes who want to learn new exercises. A higher air pressure helps advanced athletes with a faster push-off. The spring properties of a 10 cm thick Airtrack are comparable to those of a gymnastics mat. The thicker 15, 20 and 30 cm also have these properties when fully inflated, but tend more towards a bouncy castle/tumbling track when you inflate the Airtrack less hard. If you are still unsure which thickness is right for you, choose the all-round 20 cm Airtrack, you can never go wrong with this.

How long should your AirTrack be?

When determining the length of the Airtrack, a number of choices play a role. Do you want to use the Airtrack for example only outside or also inside? Look carefully at the space that is available. Many people choose to buy 2 smaller 3 or 4 meter Airtracks in combination with a connector. This way you make a long track outside and if you go inside it also fits. In addition, you can take 2 smaller Airtracks with you more easily and you can also use them on the water as a sup. For freerunning and for example martial arts, a wide Airtrack is more important than a long one. If the Airtrack is mainly used for gymnastics, the rule applies, the longer the better!
